QuickBooks Online connection management
Disconnect SSC Bookkeeping Bridge
Disconnecting stops SSC Bookkeeping Bridge from obtaining future QuickBooks Online access through the authorization being removed. It does not delete or reverse accounting entries previously created in QuickBooks and does not automatically erase the Bridge’s local audit records.
Before disconnecting
- Finish or document any in-progress bookkeeping work.
- Retain any mappings, approvals, audit history, or other records your business is required to keep.
- Confirm that you are disconnecting the intended QuickBooks Online company.
- Use an administrator or user authorized to manage third-party app connections.
Disconnect in QuickBooks Online
- Sign in to the intended QuickBooks Online company.
- Open Integrations and select Manage integrations.
- Find SSC Bookkeeping Bridge.
- Open the app’s More or Action menu and select Disconnect.
- Complete Intuit’s short questionnaire if one is displayed.
- Select Disconnect again to confirm removal from the company profile.

What happens after disconnection
- The removed QuickBooks authorization can no longer be used for future API access.
- Existing QuickBooks accounts, journals, and other records are not automatically changed or deleted.
- The installed Bridge may continue to display previously stored local mappings, prepared journals, approvals, and audit history.
- A future connection requires a new Intuit authorization completed by an authorized user.
Uninstalling or deleting local Bridge data
Disconnecting QuickBooks and uninstalling the Bridge are separate actions. Uninstalling the program may preserve local application data so that an update or reinstall does not destroy business records. Local data may include mappings, import records, encrypted provider tokens, approvals, posting history, and duplicate-prevention audit records.
If you also want local Bridge data permanently removed, contact SSC for assistance before deleting it. Deletion may be irreversible and can remove records needed to understand prior imports or prevent duplicate posting. Preserve anything required for accounting, tax, contractual, or legal purposes first.
